Gui Hua Jiu (Osmanthus Flower Wine)

Rice wine infused with dried osmanthus flowers — a fragrant ritual wine mentioned in the Chu Ci (Songs of Chu) poems and used in autumn harvest ceremonies.

Instructions

  1. Warm rice wine gently (do not boil). Add dried osmanthus flowers and rock sugar. Stir until sugar dissolves. Cover and let infuse 24-48 hours. Strain. Serve at room temperature or gently warmed. The wine should have a delicate apricot-honey fragrance.
