Tila Pinda (Sesame Rice Balls)
Cooked rice mixed with toasted sesame and jaggery, rolled into balls and offered to ancestors during the Shraddha ceremony — one of the oldest documented ritual foods.

Ingredients
- cooked white rice, toasted black sesame seeds, jaggery, ghee, water
Instructions
- Dissolve jaggery in a little warm water. Mix with warm rice, toasted sesame, and ghee. The mixture should bind together. With dampened hands, roll into small firm balls (pinda). These are traditionally offered to ancestors in rituals, then eaten by the family.
