Apfelstrudel
A masterpiece of pastry — paper-thin dough rolled around a rich filling of tart apples, cinnamon, sugar, and rum-soaked raisins.

Ingredients
- Dough: 250g flour, 1 egg, 2 tbsp oil, warm water
- Filling: 1kg tart apples (Granny Smith), 100g sugar, 1 tsp cinnamon, 50g breadcrumbs fried in butter, 50g raisins
Instructions
- Knead the dough until smooth and elastic. Brush with oil and let rest under a warm bowl for 1 hour.
- On a floured tablecloth, stretch the dough by hand until it is translucent and thin enough to read a newspaper through.
- Spread the fried breadcrumbs over 2/3 of the dough. Top with sliced apples mixed with sugar, cinnamon, and raisins.
- Roll tightly using the tablecloth. Brush with melted butter.
- Bake at 190°C for 40 minutes until golden brown.
