Bai Sak Chrouk (Grilled Pork with Rice)
The definitive Cambodian breakfast: thinly sliced pork marinated in coconut milk and garlic, grilled until tender and served over rice.

Ingredients
- 500g pork shoulder, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup coconut milk
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp palm sugar
- 4 cups cooked jasmine rice
- Pickled papaya and cucumber for serving.
Instructions
- 1. Marinate the pork in coconut milk, garlic, soy sauce, and palm sugar for at least 30 minutes. 2. Grill the pork slices over charcoal or in a pan until browned and slightly charred. 3. Serve the hot pork over a bowl of jasmine rice. 4. Accompany with a side of pickled vegetables and a small bowl of clear chicken broth.
