Beef Saraman (Khmer Muslim Curry)
A rich, thick, and complex beef curry influenced by the Cham Muslim community, featuring roasted peanuts and a unique blend of dried spices.

Ingredients
- 1 kg beef shank, cubed
- 4 cups coconut milk
- 1/2 cup roasted peanuts
- 3 tbsp red kroeung paste
- Spices: cinnamon, cardamom, star anise, cloves
- 1/4 cup tamarind juice
- Palm sugar.
Instructions
- 1. Sauté red kroeung and dried spices until oil separates. 2. Add beef and brown. 3. Pour in coconut milk and peanuts. 4. Simmer on low heat for 2 hours until beef is meltingly tender and the sauce is very thick. 5. Season with tamarind and palm sugar. 6. Serve with rice or bread.
