A very rich fruit cake encased in a thin layer of pastry, another New Year staple.

Ingredients

• Shortcrust pastry
• Raisins, Currants, Spices, Flour, Brandy

Instructions

1. Make a very dense, dark fruit cake mixture.
2. Line a tin with pastry, fill with cake mix, and seal the top with pastry.
3. Bake slowly for 3 hours.
