Buckeye Candy
Peanut butter balls dipped in chocolate, leaving a circle of peanut butter visible on top to resemble the Ohio buckeye nut — the essential Ohio State game-day candy.

Ingredients
- 1.5 cups creamy peanut butter
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 4.5 cups powdered sugar
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 tbsp vegetable shortening
Instructions
- Mix peanut butter, butter, vanilla, and powdered sugar until smooth dough forms.
- Roll into 1-inch balls. Place on parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Freeze 30 minutes.
- Melt chocolate chips with shortening.
- Insert a toothpick into each ball. Dip into chocolate, leaving a circle of peanut butter visible on top (to resemble a buckeye nut).
- Place back on parchment. Remove toothpick.
- Refrigerate until chocolate sets.
