Budae Jjigae (Army Base Stew)

A fusion stew born from post-war necessity, combining American ingredients like spam, sausages, and beans with Korean kimchi and ramen.

Ingredients

• Spam, sausages, sliced
• 1 cup kimchi, chopped
• 1 portion ramen noodles
• 1/2 cup canned baked beans
• 1 slice cheese
• Tofu, onion, green onion
• Paste: 2 tbsp Gochugaru, 1 tbsp Gochujang, 1 tbsp minced Garlic

Instructions

1. Arrange all ingredients except noodles and cheese in a shallow pot.
2. Pour in broth and add the spice paste.
3. Bring to a boil. Add ramen noodles and cook until soft.
4. Top with cheese and serve bubbling.
