Farofa
A versatile side dish made of toasted cassava flour, usually sautéed with butter, onions, and various savory additions.

Ingredients
- 2 cups manioc/cassava flour (farinha de mandioca)
- 3 tbsp butter
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 100g bacon or smoked sausage, diced
- 2 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
- Salt and parsley to taste
Instructions
- Melt butter in a large skillet. Fry bacon or sausage until crispy.
- Add onion and sauté until golden.
- Add the cassava flour slowly, stirring constantly over medium-low heat.
- Toast the flour for 5-8 minutes until lightly golden and fragrant.
- Stir in the chopped eggs and parsley. Season with salt.
- Serve as a crunchy accompaniment to meats or feijoada.
