Halo-Halo
The ultimate Filipino summer dessert; a colorful mixture of shaved ice, evaporated milk, and various sweet beans, jellies, and fruits.

Ingredients
- Shaved ice Evaporated milk Sweetened mung beans and kidney beans Macapuno (coconut sport) Nata de coco (coconut jelly) Kaong (palm fruit) Ube halaya (purple yam jam) Leche flan (caramel custard) Jackfruit strips Scoop of ube ice cream
Instructions
- 1. In a tall glass, layer the sweetened beans, jellies, and fruits at the bottom. 2. Fill the glass with finely shaved ice. 3. Pour a generous amount of evaporated milk over the ice. 4. Top with a slice of leche flan, a dollop of ube halaya, and a scoop of ube ice cream. 5. The name "Halo-Halo" means "mix-mix"—the best way to eat it is to stir everything together until it becomes a thick, cold, purple slurry.
