Panamanian fried dough — light, puffy, and slightly sweet, eaten for breakfast with cheese, eggs, or simply dusted with sugar.

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  2. Rub in butter. Add milk gradually to form soft dough.
  3. Knead briefly. Rest 30 minutes.
  4. Divide into 8 balls. Flatten into thin rounds.
  5. Fry in hot oil until puffed and golden on both sides.
  6. Drain. Serve with cheese, eggs, or sugar.
