A rich and festive layered meat and sauerkraut stew, a specialty of Bansko.

Ingredients

• Mixed meat (pork, beef, chicken, blood sausage)
• Sauerkraut
• Rice
• Red wine
• Spices (allspice, bay leaf)

Instructions

1. Layer sauerkraut, meat, and rice in a large clay pot.
2. Pour red wine and water over.
3. Seal with dough and bake slowly for 5 hours.
