Karkade (Hibiscus Juice)

Bright red hibiscus flower infusion served chilled — one of the most iconic drinks of Sudan.

Ingredients

• 1 cup dried hibiscus flowers
• 4 cups water
• Sugar to taste
• Ice

Instructions

1. Bring water to a boil.
2. Add hibiscus flowers and simmer 5 minutes.
3. Strain and sweeten.
4. Serve chilled over ice.
