Kavum (Oil Cake)

A traditional deep-fried sweet cake made from rice flour and kithul treacle, with a characteristic bump in the center.

Ingredients

• rice flour, kitul treacle, sugar, salt, oil

Instructions

1. Mix treacle and flour into a thick batter. Pour into hot oil. Use a wooden skewer to manipulate the center into a "kondaya" (bump) while frying.
