Kepta Duona (Fried Rye Bread)
Dark rye bread sticks fried until crispy and rubbed with fresh garlic. The ultimate Lithuanian beer snack.

Ingredients
- 4 slices dark rye bread (black bread) 4 cloves garlic, peeled Oil for frying Salt to taste Optional: cheese sauce (melted cheese mixed with mayonnaise and garlic)
Instructions
- 1. Cut the rye bread into thick strips. 2. Heat oil in a pan and fry the bread until dark, crispy, and firm. 3. Drain on paper towels. 4. While the bread is still hot, rub each piece vigorously with a raw garlic clove. 5. Sprinkle with salt. 6. Serve warm, often with a cheese dip.
