Labneh

Thick, creamy strained yogurt balls preserved in olive oil or served as a spread with za'atar and olives.

  1. Stir the salt into the yogurt. Place the mixture in a cheesecloth or a clean kitchen towel. Tie the cloth and hang it over a bowl or sink for 24 hours (or up to 48h for a firmer cheese). Once thick, spread on a plate, creating a well for olive oil. Sprinkle with za'atar and serve with pita bread, tomatoes, and cucumbers.
