Machuca (Mashed Plantains)
A Garifuna staple of green and ripe plantains boiled and mashed together.

Ingredients
- 2 green plantains
- 2 ripe plantains
- Coconut milk (optional)
- Salt
Instructions
- 1. Peel and boil both types of plantains until soft. 2. Drain and mash them together in a wooden mortar (mortero) until they reach a dough-like consistency. 3. Can be shaped into balls and served in soup.
