Turrón de Doña Pepa
A traditional layered anise-flavored shortbread cookie block, drenched in fruit syrup and topped with colorful sprinkles and candies.

Ingredients
- Dough: flour, lard, egg yolks, anise seeds, sesame seeds
- Syrup: chancaca, orange, pineapple, apple, queen, cinnamon
- Garnish: colorful candies and sprinkles
Instructions
- Make the dough sticks with anise and sesame. Bake until golden and crisp.
- Prepare a thick fruit syrup by boiling chancaca with various fruits until it reaches a soft-ball stage.
- Layer the sticks in one direction, cover with syrup. Add a second layer in the opposite direction, cover with more syrup.
- Repeat for 3 layers. Decorate the top with plenty of sprinkles and traditional candies.
- Let rest for 24 hours before slicing into blocks.
