Rosca de Reyes

An oval-shaped sweet bread wreath decorated with candied fruits and sugar paste, containing a hidden 'baby Jesus' figurine.

Ingredients

• Sweet yeast dough (similar to brioche)
• Candied fruits: figs, cherries, citron
• Sugar paste (concha topping style)
• Plastic figurines (niños)
• Egg wash

Instructions

1. Form dough into a large oval wreath. Hide the figurines inside.
2. Decorate with strips of sugar paste and candied fruits.
3. Let rise until doubled. Brush with egg wash.
4. Bake at 180°C until golden brown.
5. Traditionally shared on January 6th.
