Southern Collard Greens
Leafy greens slow-simmered in a smoky "pot liquor" flavored with ham hocks or smoked turkey.

Ingredients
- 2 lbs collard greens, stemmed and chopped
- 1 smoked ham hock
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Simmer ham hock, onion, and broth for 45 minutes to create the base.
- Add greens, vinegar, sugar, and pepper flakes.
- Cover and simmer on low for 1-1.5 hours until greens are very tender.
- Adjust seasoning with salt; serve with the flavorful liquid ("pot liquor").
