Spekkoek (Lapis Legit)

An Indonesian-Dutch layer cake with dozens of thin, spiced layers.

Ingredients

• Butter
• Sugar
• Eggs
• Flour
• Cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, mace

Instructions

1. Prepare two batters (one spiced, one plain)
2. Grill a very thin layer of spiced batter
3. Top with a thin layer of plain batter
4. Repeat until you have 20+ layers
5. This takes patience!
