Tereré (Cold Mate)
The national drink of Paraguay. It is a cold infusion of yerba mate with "yuyos" (medicinal herbs) and plenty of ice.

Ingredients
- Yerba mate, ice, cold water, fresh herbs (mint, lemongrass, or "poha nana" from the market)
Instructions
- 1. Fill a "guampa" (cup) 3/4 full with yerba mate. 2. In a large pitcher (termo), mix cold water, plenty of ice, and crushed fresh herbs. 3. Insert a "bombilla" (metal straw) into the yerba. 4. Pour the ice-cold herbal water into the guampa and drink.
