Indigenous Wild Rice Soup

  1. Rinse wild rice and simmer in broth for 45-50 minutes until tender. In a separate pan, sauté onion, carrots, and mushrooms in butter until soft. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in 2 cups of the rice cooking liquid. Simmer until thickened. Add the cooked rice, remaining broth, and cream. Heat through and season with salt and pepper.
